Aleta Pippin

Contemporary painter, Aleta Pippin works in oils and acrylics, creating rich, vibrant abstract paintings. Her love of color is obvious. The images, created intuitively through layers and layers of rich glazes, are inspired by nature and music. Aleta is in her third career and began to seriously market her paintings in 2004 through the Santa Fe Society of Artists outdoor venues. Since that time, she has co-founded Pippin Meikle Fine Art with fellow artist, Barbara Meikle. Pippin continues to experiment with color, medium, and image as she evolves with her paintings.
Aleta’s paintings are about experimentation and process. She delights in her layering technique used when painting in oil. Thin glazes of color upon thin glazes of color - always with the goal of visual depth and texture, and energetic, warm, vibrant color.
Painting with acrylics on panels, whether masonite, wood or metal, she strives for interest in surface texture, as well as for depth and light, as she experiments with many media to achieve that desired effect.
Aleta courageously tries different techniques eventhough it may cost a painting. She excites in pushing each painting to a "higher level" and witnessing its unfolding as one would witness a moth becoming a butterfly. The delight she feels as this metamorphosis takes place is quite wonderful and entirely inspirational.
Her paintings are intuitive, a dance with the various media. Color and music are infused in the work, along with her desire that the viewer be moved by the beauty.
Aleta is the co-founder of Pippin Meikle Fine Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is a multi-talented person who has had success in art (her paintings are collected internationally) as well as the business world.
Aleta’s work can be found in fine art galleries in Jackson Hole WY, Palm Desert CA, Delray Beach FL and other cities. For a location near you, contact us.
